Hi Dave!
I am building my first 32' Ford and was wondering if you could tell me if I should use the chassis off of a Jaguar? Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

Matt-
Jag components were commonly used back in the 60's-70's . Not real common these days. You could probably find someone on the net who still makes mounting hardware and prefabricated parts for using the Jag components. There are other quality chassis manufacturers using various configurations such as TCI out of L.A.

If you have your mind set on Jag stuff this place has all the mounting stuff needed to put Jag front and rears in almost anything. A few years ago I bought a universal cross member kit and put a Jag rear in a 54 chevy pickup chassis. I really don't see any advantage of doing it other than to be different maybe, they do look pretty cool, especially if its all chromed and polished!

thank you for your imput. What would you recomend as far as a chassis? Everybody is telling me to stay away from the Jag deal. I hear it is really old school.

Do the math - wheel base/width, nothings impossiable but sometimes just not worth the time and money. but if you chose the do it you will be the first, other than just useing the rear end !!!.

Sorry if I sound dumb, but Jags are monocoque chassis, with independent rear (S Type and XJ6), so I don't know how you would use the chassis. 95% of all Cobras built in SA have an XJ6 or SType independent back end with inboard brakes. They work brilliantly on Cobras. Presumably your 32 is a kit car as well, in which case it will work brilliantly, provided all the measurements are kosher.
