Hey, my name is Mike and I got a 2002 Toyota Corolla LE that started off as a granny car, but now is starting to shape up into a respectable looking car. The car has black paint that is in outstanding shape and has about 18,000 miles on the odometer. It has such low mileage because it was kept in a garage for 3 years. When I picked her up, she had dust and all types of animal footprints on it. I was originally going to leave it stock and drive it until I could get a different car, but I coudn't resist going all out with the car, especially with a decent amount of parts available for this car (EBay!!). It took a year and a half and a garbage pail full of money, but i finally got this car looking like what i envisioned it to be.... Other than that, I'm a full time student at Brooklyn College, and most of my money goes toward the car. As a result, I'm one broke kid...
Two Goals:
-I just want the Corolla to get some respect because all the ones that I see around here have like 1 hubcap missing, and they're all beat up and treated like garbage. I treat mine like a baby, give her enough time to warm up, give her baths, all that good stuff.'
-conversion from LE to S and then even past that. In terms of the exterior, I think my car looks better than the stock S. Still need the black interior dash pieces, steering wheel. I want people to turn their heads to look at the car and say "Wow!, thats a Corolla?"
*I wish I could start all over so I could go in a different direction with the car. I would have started with improving the handling by installing coil-overs, strut bars, sway bars, bigger brakes, etc. Then improve the horsepower a bit with a real CAI, catback exhaust, etc. Would have stayed away from all these miscellaneous items that I bought (ie: badges, tint, speakers, some of the lighting, ventshades, etc)

Current Projects
2002 Corolla LE future mods:
-coil-overs (she needs to be dropped anyway)
-TRD strut bar (need it because the car rolls more than a wallowing walrus through turns)
-front/rear sway bar (again, the car rolls like a walrus)
-larger rotors and/or better brake pads (heavier wheels, harder to slow the car)
-change of exhaust components from the header back (4 gerbils pushing 125 hp is not quite enough for me). need new custom catback exhaust and new header or just port and polish OEM ones.
-BMW rear window spoiler
-new exhaust --> complete!
Major Purchases
-Magnaflow muffler + install with new piping (sounds awesome!)
-Injen Short Ram Intake (sounds nice and adds some much needed power).
-full lip kit (Ebay, Tom's lip kit replica)
-Rims [16" MSW Type 11 with Yokohama Avid H4s]
-aftermarket foglights
-BMW M3 rear lip spoiler
-JVC radio unit
-6.5" Pioneer speakers (front door, rear deck)
-TomTom One GPS
-tint (35% side windows, 20% rear)
-LED underbody kit (blue)
Minor Purchases:
-Silverstar Ultra Low Beams
-Black Altezza Tail-lights
-clear corners w/ blue parking lights
-aluminum mesh in upper grill, lower air dam, fog light holes
-"S" badge
-blue caliper/drum paint
-Chrome Tip exhaust
-chrome windshield sprayers (blue light). Took them off
-Blue LED Dome-light
-neon tubes in footwells (also blue) (removed)
-TRD cut-out over third brakelight (removed)
-some racing pedals from Autozone
-Bumper Badger
-new blue 194 bulbs on gauge cluster (blue)
-ventshades
-debadged the rear
-engine cover color change
-TRD badge on grill
-TRD seat belt cushions
-partial glossy black vinyl interior (wish I never did it)
-TRD plate frames
Total Investment on all the junk up to this point: ~$4000?. Yes, believe it or not, it has been that much. A lot of experimenting went on though.
I came up with a new name for the car, Rollas Royce!
Favorite Car Memory
Every day is a new memory for me and Rolla. I just love driving the car on a daily basis and love hearing the sound of that engine. It sounds so great with the intake and exhaust! I finally have a new car memory! It was this wednesday (4/9/08) when i got pulled over for totally blowing a red light and the cops took me out of the vehicle and went through every part of my car looking for drugs and weapons. One of the first things they told me was to tell them what i had in the car that i shouldn't have. They found nothing and let me go with a warning. That was fun!

whats up mike? the eyelids look better than i thought. i guess it was the way the shadows from the back of the headlight housing was what was making them look crooked. they do look pretty good. haven't really done anything new here yet but in about two weeks i wil be rebuilding the bottom end and installing a camber kit and new tires.
not only do they crush them but they do it while the owner watches. come of these guys end up losing 60 grand. its crazy. i don't think its right. but i don't condone street racing but it's still wrong.
