All about me and my cars
So, this is my first car. It's kind of funny - I went through a ricer stage. Shiny, all I had was an intake and a muffler. Ah - I was just touching the ice burg. I've redone anything I had done - and am loving it more and more every day. It's amazing to think that one could get so into modding that it would just never cease to stop. I'm on the verge of a major upgrade. It's so compelling, because if you do things right - every mod just gives you another idea, and you keep building off ideas. We live in a world built off ideas previously made.
Current Projects
Currently i'm in bed with Maptun of Sweden, working on implementing their Stage 5 kit (will bring the car to 300+hp and 307+ft/lb). That's pretty much 100 more horsepower and an extra 90ft/lb of torque from stock. At the track (in the ricer stage) I could get it to run consistant 15.00's, with 14.92 as my best time. I'm excited to see what i'll run now, without the Stage 5 kit. And then what it will be like after. Since nothing on the car is actually tuned, I don't expect to be a lot faster, with a car this 'technologically advanced' (as some would call it) the ECU likes to keep things pretty close to home, which is why real gains can only be achieved with a tune.

So far (just going towards the stage tune) I've got a 3" DP and race cat, with a 2.5" catback and Magnaflow muffler. Keeps things nice and toned, with amazing feedback after letting off the gas (For a 2.0l, at least :-) ). I've also got a set of 465cc injectors waiting when I get the ECU, a 16T compressor wheel with that, and already installed is a GReddy Spec-M intercooler.

When I get the ECU, i'll send the turbo off to get rebored to fit the new wheel, put on the injectors and install the new ECU. It will be like one huge kick in the pants.

As a smaller side project, I have a pulley manufacturer (small business guy) Wanting to develop a full pulley kit for the 2.0l ectotec motors, and will be using my pulleys as a base. Excited about that, as some of the pulleys are ungodly heavy (a 31/2" alternator pulley comes in at 1 1/4 lb.) I havn't weighed the crank pulley yet. They should also look pretty nice.
Favorite Car Memory
Though I can probably come up with something better then this, but when I installed my GReddy Type-RS BOV it just made the car sound a hell of a lot meaner. When someone revs at you, and all you can do back is a small 'vroom', it leaves you just saying ah..okay. But when you rev loud and get a nice blowoff at the end, it really turns it full circle.

Going to use the blog to keep track

Going to be using this blog feature to keep track of all my online resources as far as engine building and the such, and try and keep a good log of things that have been completed. I'm not going to be able to do the Stage 5 upgrade, it's just not extremely worth it. I'm trying to get a custom tune, as that would yield far better results and probably quite a bit more horsepower. I'm building the motor for a tune of 400hp at the crank. Luckily, ecotecs are already strong as hell - but needs some w… Continue

Sweet stuff going on! Stage 5 progress

Well today I made some major progess. I've been talking to a forum member and he's going to be hooking up with the 3 main parts I need for Stage 5 at an amazing deal. He's going to be shipping me 4 green giant injectors that were flow matched to eachother, the 16T compressor wheel and the HL turbine and assembly for a really good price. Totally stoked, as this means Stage 5 is really, really close. After I get these parts, i'll just need the Forge motorsport tuned actuator, and the ECU. DONE, 30… Continue
